 Official Equinox Character Setup

In order to be allowed on the forums, you must have at least one character created and approved by the moderators.

All characters must be kept believable, I.E. no god characters.

(note: until there is an actual purpose, all characters are to be considered human.)

Character Topic Requirements:

Name: Your character's name, obviously.

Occupation: Your character's "job". Basically this part is currently limited to what your character actually DOES during a story. Generally this will consist of what position on a team (s)he is, or what kind of skills the character has. It is recommended that you have a "Tech" character, or a character that communicates with your fighter(s) and can tell information to your fighters that they would not normally know.

Classification: A characters basic style. For example, a character that uses stealth type fighting would be classified an Assasin, or Infiltration Expert, while a character that uses sword-type weapons, would be classified a swordsman/swordswoman.

Appearance: Your character's outward appearance. This consists of, basically, what kind of clothing your character wears.

Personality: How your character will act towards others, and towards situations.

Weapon Sets: The type of weapons your character has ready. Please use type descriptions, such as "Assault Rifle" or like, instead of "AK47" and such. If you wish it to be a special type of weaponry, you are asked to describe a set. Note that a Weapon Set consists of 2 weapons, one for each hand of the character. Please limit the number of weapon sets you carry to 2 or 3. Note also that single handed weapons will count as a Special Ability to use the other hand effectively (see "Special Abilities").

Nanotechnologies: Nanotechnologies are special programs that are utilized by nanobots found inside most humans. Nanotechs have the ability to order the nanobots to clone cells, form over skin, or even create displays for information. However Nanotechs require energy to use, and may only be used a max of 10 times without rest (that is you may only use 10 nanotechnologies before you must restore power by either resting or eating and digesting. Nanotechnologies count as Special Abilities, and you can have a max of 3 "installed".

Biotechnologies: Biotechnologies are similar to Nanotechs in that they allow amazing abilities, but they are more devastating on the human body, in terms of their use. Biotechs utilize chemicals and DNA samples to allow the user to temporarily morph parts of their bodies, but take a toll on both energy and health. Biotechnologies count as Special Abilities, and you can carry a max of 5 at once.

Special Abilities: Special Abilities refer to skills that your character has picked up in their lifetime. These abilities refer to above-par abilities, such as the ability to aim from behind a barrier quickly with one handed guns. These also refer to abilities to use a dual wield with one-handed weapons, as well as use of both Nanotechs and Biotechs. Each Special Ability that you possess must have a relating Special Weakness.

Special Weaknesses: Special Weaknesses are used to both balance all Abilities, and also as partial plot devices. For example, the special ability mentioned above (able to aim quickly behind cover), shows a high mastery of one handed guns, so a fair balance would to say that the character has a difficult time aiming and using two-handed weaponry. You must have at least 1 Special Weakness for Special Abilites, Nanotechnologies, and Biotechnologies:
Special Ability weaknesses must relate to the ability in some way.
Nanotech weaknesses may relate, but it is not required.
Biotech weaknesses must relate in some way to a health complication from using the Biotechs.

Family: (Optional) If a character has a past, and is searching for a family member, or protecting one (a second character is recommended for this), please list any relevant characters here, and post either a link to the character's topic or a second character setup in the same topic.

History: A breif (or not-so-brief) history of your character. It is recommended that characters start before the destruction of Earth, but not required, however the Equinox Universe is set in the Earth year 2087 (18 years after first landing on Equinox). Please explain some, if not all Special Abilities in your History. If your character has Nanotechs or Biotechs, you must include the character obtaining a Nanobot Infusion, or a Biotech License (respectively).

Once your character has been completed, please allow a moderator to review it. When it has been approved, the title will be marked with [APPROVED].
